Where it all began
Mere & Moss wasn't created in a boardroom. It grew quietly, one walk at a time.
Living on the edge of the Lake District, I found myself returning to the fells, meres and woodland paths. Those walks became a place to think, heal and rediscover what mattered most.
Over time, an idea emerged: to create home fragrances that don't simply smell beautiful, but capture the calm these landscapes leave behind.
Every candle, wax melt, diffuser and room spray is hand-poured in my cottage in Cockermouth, inspired by the place I call home.
Everyone deserves a place to feel peaceful.
Mere & Moss began with a simple belief: everyone deserves to come home to a place that feels peaceful.
Surrounded by fells, meres and changing seasons, I wanted to create home fragrances that capture the beauty of this landscape — not by copying nature exactly, but by recreating the feeling it leaves behind.
A walk. A moment. A new beginning.
Over six months, I walked the paths, lakes and woodlands around my home, refining ideas, choosing fragrances and imagining a brand that reflected the feeling I found outdoors.
During a difficult period in my life, someone close to me said something that stayed with me:
“Everything is going to be OK. You’re going to make candles.”
Those words became the beginning of Mere & Moss.
Thoughtfully made in small batches.
Every product is hand-poured in small batches using natural soy /ECO wax, carefully selected fragrance oils and thoughtfully chosen materials.
Nothing is rushed. Every fragrance is tested, refined and poured with care because the little details are what transform a house into a home.
More than fragrance.
Fragrance changes more than a room. It changes how we feel.
A quiet morning.
A slow evening.
Time with family.
A moment to yourself after a busy day.
